SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES
We are happy to announce Erik Javier Perez Olivas as our 2023 Financial Literacy First Scholarship Fund awardee. Erik attends Community College of Denver and is an outstanding student. He is a driven student that combines both school and work activities in his life and is studying business administration. When he was asked why financial literacy was important to our society, he responded with:
"Financial literacy has always been a vital trait to have. I believe, in our current state of the world, being able to navigate oneself through life with financial stability, is a goal we should all be aiming for. Budgeting and saving can help minimize my stress and financial anxiety knowing there are funds for emergencies, retirement and even future vacations. I do my best to stay on top of my spendings and have a good understanding of how to live within my means. I've also made a good habit of keeping up with my credit score to ensure I am able to buy a house and a car later down the road with the best possible loaning terms. Creating a healthy relationship with money now, will be a powerful tool to have, as I grow older and obtain more financial responsibilities. "
He has completed the necessary requirements to qualify and we have donated $1,000 to help. We are happy to support Erik in furthering his education.
