Awards & Recognition
Financial Literacy is very proud to announce their receipt of two awards for 2022. The first one is from eWomens Network Group with is a global organization that supports female entrepreneurs. We were award this beautiful silver trimmed plate and a cash donation that will be allocated to our scholarship fund. The second award came from the Consumers United Association who's sole purpose it support financial literacy non-profits, They also made a generous donation to our organization and the funds will be used to provide free Basics 101 classes to the disadvantaged youth. We are pleased and grateful for the recognition that we have received from these two organizations.
We also want to give a huge 'Thank You' to Aurora Gateway Rotary that supplied us with a grant this year that will help with the expenses related to our Financial IQ Classes and the class supplies. We are constantly reminded that we can't fulfill our mission without the help of sponsorships such as these great organizations.
We want to congratulate Tiffany Tasker for being our 2022 scholarship award winner! Tiffany current attends University of Colorado Denver and is doing her doctorate in Education and Leadership for Educational Equity, Urban and Diverse Communities. Her background includes years of service [since 2014] with FEET, Financial Education and Economic Transformation center in Aurora, Colorado. Not only was she previously a student of FEET, but also teaches it to elementary students! Truly Tiffany loves sharing the message on how to be financially successful. Her diverse job background has included being a Professor, Teacher's Assistant, Brand Ambassador and much more. She is an inspirational person worth following! Again, congratulations Tiffany, glad Financial Literacy First could help with your tuition costs.
Community Involvement Matters
Our mission is to create a change in the economic responsibility of our community by providing financial classes through a blended learning business platform. By facilitating classroom instruction which is complimented by online webinars our primary purpose is to reach young adults first. Ultimately by accomplishing our mission Financial Literacy First will help lessen the dependency on parents/grandparents, Pawn Shops and Pay Day Loan establishments, reduce financial crimes, and improve the buying power of multiple generations.
William Smith High School!
Financial Literacy First! has facilitated Financial IQ Classes for 9th to 12th graders at William Smith High School since 2021. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn about money early. The kids get mock paychecks, learn how to budget, savings apps, make buying decisions for apartments and cars and much more!
